"For the truth is that I already know as much about my fate as I need to know. The day will come when I will die. So the only matter of consequence before me is what I will do with my allotted time. I can remain on shore, paralyzed with fear, or I can raise my sails and dip and soar in the breeze."--Richard Bode

Matanchen Bay
The peaceful Matanchen bay anchorage was delightful. We met up with friends from S/V Espiritu and traveled by panga up the mangroves estuary. The 6 crocodiles we saw were from age 3 to possibly over 30 years as the older one was at least 8 feet long. Many birds, turtles and iguanas were basking in the sun along the waterway. Swimming in a fresh water spring at the end of the estuary was made 'safe' by a fence to keep the crocs out.
