A boat is never DONE

Since arriving in San Diego we have been repairing, maintaining and upgrading Talaria and her systems. At first I was rushing through the teak brightening and oiling as if I was in the Pacific Northwest, fearing rain was just around the corner. Soon I realized that I could stop at 3PM and join Rick at the pool. Takes me longer to slow down I am afraid. Rick has installed the water maker, the system to water cool the refrigerator, a light on the compass, remote VHF for the cockpit, replaced aux fuel pump, replacement of system control panel, solid wood hatch cover, some rewiring and plumbing. Top side, we have a new mainsail cover, covers for the gas cans, hatch teak stripped, varnished and new screening, dorade boxes and rub rail stripped and oiled.

We still need to replace the caulking on the teak decks. This is a big job so we continuously say we will start tomorrow.
